Technology

Our topic this term has been about technology and 'how stuff works'. We read the story The Ginger Bread Man and realised he had a need! He needed a bridge or a boat to get across the river safely. We designed out model first in our topic book and decided what materials we would need. We had to think about the strength of our design.

On Tuesday we started to make our bridges and boats. We tested out different ways the materials could stick together. There was a lot of testing.

Gabrielle's Visit

On Wednesday the 8th of June, Room 4 was lucky enough to have Gabrielle come in to talk to us about architecture. We pretended to be 'little birds' and drew our own room design from a birds eye view. After we had stuck them all together we realised we had designed a mansion! Our favourite room was the 'treasure' room.

Samoan Language Week

Last week we celebrated Samoan language week. We were so lucky because Mrs Fala bought in some coconut rice for everybody to try. It was delicious!!

Holy Spirit

In RE we have been learning all about The Holy Spirit. We had fun acting out times when we felt The Holy Spirit working with us.

More Measurement!

Today we enjoyed measuring things around the room using our ice cream sticks. We especially enjoyed being able to see how many sticks long we were.

Get Wise - ASB

Today we had a guest speaker come in from ASB bank. He taught us all about saving our money. We has so much fun learning. We really enjoyed acting out our chores that we do at home.

Measurement

For math this term we have started to look at measurement. With our cubes we measured out hands, feet and even the length of our bodies!
